Child Care
The Allentown YMCA & YWCA provides state licensed child care for children ages 13 months through 10 years. As we bridge the gap from home to school, we guide the children to a positive self-image and build social skills in a caring, warm environment. Based on the theory children learn through play, classroom routines encourage active involvement, meaningful experimentation and reinforcement through repetition. We recognize children grow in predictable states, we teach each child as an individual, working from the level each child has attained and move forward one step at a time. We teach a love of learning; allowing children to experience their own stage of development and helping them to feel success without pressure. Each class works with a monthly theme and integrates subjects in their curriculum to provide children with the necessary academic skills for preschool. The Allentown YMCA & YWCA is dedicated to teaching the core values of CARING, HONESTY, RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY to all children in our child care programs.

Preschool
Ages 13 months - 24 months - Young toddlerhood is a period of rapid physical and mental changes requiring flexible, responsive and stable caregivers. Through relaxed and sensitive social interaction with our child care staff, your young toddler will develop the feelings of trust and competence that are essential to the development of self-esteem. The children in our program are respected as individuals, with care provided to fit their personalities and developmental progress. Full and part-time care is available. Ages 25 months - 36 months - Toddlers thrive on exploration and creativity. A developmentally appropriate curriculum will encourage literature, math and motor skills necessary for preschool. Toddlers will learn by seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and feeling things in their own environment. This toddler program will respond to the needs of your child when he or she is most open to personal growth and development.
