All of our aquatic programs are held in our heated five-lane indoor pool. The instructors for these classes have been trained and have various certifications. A certified lifeguard is on duty during all class sessions. Our adult programs run in seven-week sessions. For our facility members an adult recreational swim or an adult lap is scheduled throughout most of the day. |

| S.K.I.P. (6-23 months) - The child is accompanied by mom and/or dad in the water. Children will be introduced to basic water skills through games and songs. Parents will learn basic teaching and water safety skills to use with their child. | Rock Lobsters (24-35 months) This level will concentrate on instruction in basic swimming skills. | This nationally certified water-safety program includes pre-swimming skills, stroke components, endurance practice and safety tips in all levels. Classes are one half hour in length and meet once a week. Report cards will be given out during the sixth week of the session. Please pick up a Parent Handbook when registering. This age group develops water skills without a parent in the pool. Children must be toilet trained. Flotation devices are not used in any level Our aquatic programs were awarded 6th best in the nation and 1st best in the State of PA by the United States Water Fitness Association for 2003-2004. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Pike (Beginner Level)- For the nonswimmer acquiring basic swim skills. | Eel (Intermediate Level) - Children can swim short distances (3-5 ft.) before enrolling, Swimmers will build on basic skills and learn simple stroke mechanics. | Ray/Starfish (Intermediate-Advanced Level) Swimmers have completed Eel skills and will work on rotary breathing, backstroke and diving skills. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Lifeguard and AED Certification - ages 15 and up - This American Red Cross Life guarding Certification Course includes Professional CPR, AED, Life guarding and First Aid. Course books and CPR pocket mask are included. | Ultra Aqua Workout - ages 13 and up - This combination workout includes aerobics and circuit training. Both shallow and deep end conditioning exercises are involved. | Scuba - ages 13 and up - Explore the underwater world by earning your basic certification with PADI. In this course you will learn all basic SCUBA skills and SCUBA safety. Course includes use of all major equipment during class sessions, books, and air fill. | Aqua Aerobics - ages 13 and up - Join us in the pool with our excellent motivated and experienced instructors for this heart pumping, high calorie burning class. This class promotes cardiovascular fitness and improves muscle tone. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Joint Venture - Sponsored by the Arthritis Foundation and the National YMCA, this class will help maintain or improve flexibility and range of mothion with special exercises designed for aduls who suffer from arthritis. Handicap pool access and locker room are available. | Top of the Hill - ages 55+ - A coed exercise program designed for people 55 years and older. This moderate aqua aerobic workout includes stretching, aerobic exercising and muscle toning.
